Description
This male lion known as the “Mo-Hawk Male” was seen at first light enroute to a small stream for a morning drink with a rather large and distended belly from a recent feast. Male lions eat an average of 7kgs of meat in a day but are capable of eating up to 15% of their body weight in one sitting. At over 200kgs, that translates into a 30kg feast. This male lion is one of two brothers who control the western pride of the Pilanesberg National Park. This pride has exploded to 17 lions during their reign, siring so many cubs which lead to them being dubbed, “The Spooners”. Here he is around 8 years old and at his prime.
