Description
This young lion climbed Marula tree which was pushed over by elephants a few days before. She managed to walk out on a smaller limb sniffing it with intent. I doubt she was actually smelling the flowers and more likely smelling the scent of other animals who had been up here. This exposed limb of the fallen tree would provide a perfect spot to scent mark, to carry the messages of territory or fertility coded into the urine of animals such as leopards on the breeze.
