There are a few images which will stay with you for the rest of your life. This is one of them. In an otherwise drab evening, a cheetah perched on an embankment to get a view of the surrounding landscape. He lay pretty flat and unanimated for the afternoon. Just before walking off for the evening, he began to preen, stretch and yawn. As if on queue, the sun peaked through on the opposite horizon for a few brief moments and lit up the sky behind him in a splendour which is hard to convey. I hope this image does some justice to a moment I’ll carry for a long time. There is something incredible about an African sunset and this one stands out as one of the best.
